Homemade flower bed "bicycle" - an interesting decorative solution for a summer cottage or lawn of a country house. Despite the complexity of the design, you can make such an original stand with your own hands.
First of all, it will be necessary to make bicycle wheels on which other structural elements will “sit”. To make rings (in total three pieces will be required), we will use a steel twisted pipe with a diameter of 15 mm.
The main stages of work
As a rule, it is not always possible to fit the edges of a circle bent from a pipe the first time, therefore it is advisable to use workpieces with a small margin in length - so you will not be mistaken, and the wheels will turn out to be smooth.
After three rings of twisted pipe are bent and cut to size, their ends must be welded. To make the wheels of the bike stiff, we weld spokes in the form of curved bagels inside the rim. You can make them by cold forging.
Then a front fork is made from a steel bar with a diameter of 12 mm - two nickels cut from sheet metal are used to connect to the wheel. On the rear wheels, instead of nickels, you can take large washers.
Finishing touch
At the final stage of the work, the rear axle, frame and steering wheel are manufactured - the elements are welded together using automatic or electric arc welding. Baskets for pots with home plants and flowers can be made from twelfth round timber. They are attached both to the rear and front of the flower bed of the "bicycle", and one large basket can be welded to the seat.
