Today, valuable information (photographs, audio and video files) is usually stored not only in a computer or laptop. Very often, important data is in the smartphone. Therefore, it is important to ensure the ability to quickly exchange files between different devices, including mobile ones.

A standard USB flash drive for 8 or 16 GB connected to a smartphone is very convenient. But how to connect it, because the phone does not have a full USB connector? In fact, everything is very simple. You can connect a USB flash drive to a smartphone via a regular micro-USB connector. And for this you do not have to buy a USB OTG cable.

The main stages of work

To make a universal flash drive for a smartphone, you will need a standard USB-drive and a micro-USB connector.

We disassemble the phone jack, connect the two extreme contacts, and then solder the wires and assemble them back.

Next, we disassemble the body of the USB flash drive and solder the micro-USB wires to the connector pad.

Then we connect the device to the phone and check if everything works correctly. If everything is fine, collect the USB flash drive.

Before assembly in the case, it is necessary to cut out the groove under the micro-USB connector. The result is a universal USB-stick with a built-in adapter for a smartphone. The detailed process of manufacturing and assembling this device can be seen in the video on the site.
