If it is difficult for you to find grinding wheels with holes that are used in orbital grinding machines, you need to make a homemade device with which you can accurately and accurately drill these holes.
We take four pieces of plywood about 180 * 180 mm in size (pick up under your tool). They will serve as a template for the manufacture of grinding wheels. We drill through holes in the center, using a ballerina for this.
We make one hole with a diameter of 125 mm, the other a little larger so that the drilled part is also 125 * 125 mm in size. Firmly strengthen the plywood so that they do not move. In the beginning, we do not deepen one side to the end, then we turn it over and drill it all the way.
The main stages of work
We grind the edges of the circles, guided by sandpaper, we make a little less, about 124 mm. Then we process the outer sides of the circle. We mark on the circle according to the template the exact places for drilling holes with a drill on a tree with a diameter of 10 mm.
We make indentations in plywood for inserting castellated nuts, drill holes: one in the center and several at the edges so that the board does not crack. We glue the circle with a square piece, pulling them additionally with a bolt and clamps. Leave the workpiece until the glue completely dries.
Next, calibrate the “crown” with a drill with a diameter of 10 mm. The galvanized iron circle will be inserted inside and serve as a limiter for the drill. Homemade device assembled and ready to use.
