The New Year is approaching, and in order to create a festive atmosphere in the house, it's time to do something unusual. For example, as a Christmas decoration, you can make a snow globe. Do you think it’s impossible to make such a design at home? This is actually easier than it sounds. Enough free time and creative inspiration.

What materials are needed?

Even if winter is not in a hurry to visit, and outside it is raining or cloudy weather, nothing prevents you from creating a New Year's mood. To make a Christmas snow globe with your own hands, you will need the following materials:

  • glass jar with a lid;
  • distilled water;
  • figurine of Christmas tree or Santa Claus;
  • glycerol;
  • silicone glue;
  • elements of New Year's decor.

Ideally, finding a round jar, but if it is not available, it does not matter. An ordinary cylindrical container will do. You can use any New Year’s attributes as decorative elements, the main thing is that they fit in size.

Where to begin?

Take in your hands the Christmas tree, Santa Claus or another figure that you prepared for the New Year's "show-presentation", apply silicone glue to the base and fix it on the inside of the lid of the can, plastic or metal - no difference. As additional "accessories", you can use twigs with pieces of polystyrene foam, houses, animal figures and even miniature cockerels. It will turn out very creative, symbolic and truly original.

Pour boiled or distilled water into a jar, add glycerin and silver sparkles, and mix well. Close the “magic” container with the prepared lid and enjoy a beautiful souvenir for days on end. Or did you decide to give it? It doesn’t matter, the main thing is that it’s done by yourself. Please note that the more glycerol in the jar, the longer glitter will “float” after shaking.

And finally ...

To add a festive design more attractive, the bottom of the glass container can be decorated with an unusual "snow effect". To do this, evenly distribute ordinary PVA glue on the outer surface of the base of the can, and then sprinkle with coarse salt. It will turn out great!
