With a simple tool that is easy to do at home, you can cut perfectly even circles from wood, plywood, OSB and other materials. Such useful homemade work is useful in any carpentry workshop.
The main stages of work
First of all, it is necessary to cut a bar from the plywood sheet to the width of the working "sole" of the manual milling cutter. Then in the central part of the workpiece, you will need to select a narrow longitudinal groove. After that, we outline and drill four holes for the mounting of the router. It is also advisable to make recesses under the screw caps.
Then you will need to drill another hole under the shaft on which the cutter is mounted. The edges of the wooden workpiece must be rounded on an emery machine or cut on a band saw (as an option, you can use a manual or jigsaw).
At the final stage of the work, you will need to cut a small wooden block, which is inserted into the groove. In the bar itself, it is necessary to drill two holes for a minifix (hidden furniture hardware) and a metal pin with a diameter of 6 mm.
Operating principle
In a wooden blank from which you want to cut a circle, make a hole with a 6 mm drill. Then a steel pin of a homemade nozzle is inserted into it, and then we move the milling cutter clockwise. As a result, we get a hole and a round part of the diameter we need.
