For this homemade product you will need a plastic cup template, as well as a die-casting mold that you can make yourself. The main material that will be poured into the form are brass sleeves. The result is a home-made FIFA 2018 gold cup, which can be put on the most prominent place in the house or, for example, presented to a friend.
If you don’t have enough brass sleeves on hand, you can take sheet brass or other workpieces (hollow tubes, washers, etc.) that are easy to melt at home. You will also need some gypsum (alabaster) and fine sand.
Do-it-yourself gold cup: work stages
First of all, a plastic cup (can be ordered on the Internet) is attached to a round base made of plywood or wood using a self-tapping screw. A plastic pipe of suitable diameter is put on top, and the joint is treated with a sealant. Next, a water solution is prepared from water, building alabaster and sand, with which the template is poured.
After the mixture has solidified, the “formwork” from the pipe is carefully cut by the grinder, and the resulting gypsum “round timber” is placed for drying in a special oven for four days. After that, with the help of a gas burner, the plastic template is melted, and the finished mold for pouring is installed in a bucket of sand.
Then, brass sleeves are melted in the melting furnace and the mold is poured with molten metal. After the brass solidifies, the mold is removed from the bucket and neatly broken with a rubber mallet. The resulting cup is washed under a stream of water under pressure, then it is cleaned with a brush and polished.
