You don’t know where to attach the wheel from an old bicycle, but is it a pity to throw out? Use it to make a grinding machine with a foot drive, which is useful in the garage and home workshop. The emery design is quite simple, so everyone can make it.
Of course, the mechanical emery is inferior in performance to the electric "brother", but it has other undeniable advantages: it is almost silent, durable and economical (it does not require electricity to work). But most importantly - a homemade emery machine is not only a useful device, but also a matter of personal pride.
The main stages of work
In addition to the bicycle wheel itself, which in this case performs, although not the main, but important function, you will need wooden blocks, pieces of plywood, a leather belt and fasteners.
Two vertical trapezoidal racks are assembled from the bars. They are joined together with the help of two bars in the lower part.
From above, a working table is made on which a shaft with an emery wheel and a small pulley are mounted. A large pulley is a bicycle wheel that is installed between the uprights with the help of two pieces of plywood with pressed bearings in the central part. Through traction, the drive wheel is connected to the foot pedal.
