With the help of a simple home-made conductor, you can make "curls" of a strip of metal, round bars and steel squares. Such blanks can be used for decorative decoration of various welded metal structures, as well as in the manufacture of art forging elements.
The device itself is very simple, so everyone can make it if they wish. To assemble a home-made jig, you will need a piece of a round blank with a hole in the center (can be done on a lathe). You will also need a square or rectangular metal plate with holes for attaching to the worktop.
The main stages of work
First of all, you need to cut off a piece of a plate of suitable sizes (for example, 15x10 cm) and drill four holes in the corners for attaching to the surface of the desktop. The base of the conductor must be cleaned from rust using a metal wire brush or a flap wheel for an angle grinder.
Then, in the middle of the plate, it is necessary to weld a piece of a blank with a hole in which, using a grinder, you first need to make a wide cut along the entire length. After welding, we clean the surface of the product.
At the last stage of work, the finished conductor must be painted with spray paint (however, you can not do this, because in this case aesthetics are not so important). As a result, we get such a simple device.
Next, the conductor must be screwed to the workbench (or other flat base), and then we insert the workpiece into the slot and bend it. The manufacturing process of this device can be seen in the video on the site.
