If you decide to organize a mini-blacksmith workshop in your home workshop, then first of all you need to think about buying a hearth - you can’t heat the metal to the required temperature on an ordinary fire. Factory settings are not affordable for everyone, so in order to save money, you can make a gas horn yourself - from a 10-liter bottle.
The first step is to unscrew the valve (using a conventional adjustable or gas wrench). If the gas cylinder was already in use, it will be necessary to rinse it, fill it with water, and then only cut it with a grinder. If the cylinder is new, then these operations can be skipped.
The main stages of work
After the valve has been unscrewed and the cylinder washed of gasoline residues, we cut off the “collar” with the grinder and cut out the rectangular “window” in the upper part. First you need to make markings so that the cut lines are even. We process the edges with a flat file.
Then we cut off the lower supporting “shoe” and cut out another rectangular “window” of 75x25 mm, and also file the edges with a file to remove burrs on the metal.
At the next stage, we make a hole for the gas burner in the side wall using the core drill, and also cut off the lower part of the cylinder. From the inside, the casing of the container is "sheathed" with a roll of thermal insulation material.
At the end, we weld the cut-off lower part back, install the steel pipe for the burner, and from the segments of the angle 25x25 mm we make a mobile table-trolley for moving the furnace.
