Wooden longboards look very similar to ordinary skateboards, but are characterized by greater speed, increased stability and improved ride quality. They are often used for walking - this is a practical means of transportation around the city. A cool longboard can be made with your own hands from wood and epoxy.
First of all, using an CNC milling machine, we cut an oval-shaped board for a longboard. This operation can be performed manually, but it will take more time. Using a radius cutter (already on a simple milling machine) we remove the chamfer at the edges of the board.
The main stages of work
At the next stage of work, we process the surface of the board with a grinder or grinder with a petal circle. When using angle grinders, try not to "eat" the convex part of the board. Well, if the grinder will be with speed control, so that you can set the optimal mode.
After machining, cover the surface of the board with a mocha stain to make the finished product look more elegant. For wood impregnation with wood stain it is best to use not a brush, but a sponge - in this case the surface will be painted evenly.
Then we paint the board for the longboard with acrylic paints. To make the board strong and rigid, from the bottom we make a reinforcement layer of epoxy resin and fiberglass. Then fill the top of the board with transparent epoxy.
