Sometimes it is required to drill holes in inconvenient places - for example, in a profile rib or in a round pipe. In this case, a simple fixture is useful, which you can make yourself from improvised materials. A simpler version of this device we described in this article.
For the manufacture of this homemade product you will need two pieces of a building corner of the same length, four pieces of a steel plate, as well as four long bolts and wing nuts for them. From the tool you will need electric welding, a grinder, a drill or a drilling machine.
Please note that this homemade product is universal in application - with its help you can drill holes of a certain diameter in profiles of different sections and round pipes of different diameters. As for the diameter of the holes themselves, it can also be different - at your discretion.
The main stages of work
First of all, it will be necessary to cut the required number of blanks (corners and plates) of the same size. Then you will need to weld two pieces of the plate to each corner. The result should be two identical blanks.
In one of them, on a drilling machine, it is necessary to drill holes of the required diameter, which will be used as template holes. It is also necessary to drill four holes along the edges of the bolt plates.
To a corner in which there are no holes, we weld a piece of a plate for fixing in a bench vice. Then it remains only to paint the main details, and the homemade product is ready for work.
