In a garage or a small workshop, there is often not enough free corner for storing materials and tools of a non-standard shape and size. These include long rules that require the most convenient storage space.
The necessary function will be performed by a self-made bracket made of improvised metal - it will serve to hang the rule on the wall of the garage.
To do this, you need a profile pipe 25 × 25 mm and an ordinary metal strip. These materials can be found in any garage.
Using a grinder, it is necessary to cut off two sections of 20 mm from the profile pipe and clean out the extra protrusions. The metal strip must be cut into four blanks for two brackets, 10 and 4 cm long. They will perform the function of pads for fastening.
The main stages of the manufacture of brackets
On a drilling machine or using an electric drill, we make holes on short metal strips for screws.
Next, in a vice we grab all the elements for the manufacture of the bracket so that the pipe is located in the middle, and the edges of the metal strips look in different directions.
By connecting all the elements by welding, you can paint the finished brackets in the desired color and attach them to the wall at the same level. The work is ready, and the rules can be hung on the wall.
