Corks from wine bottles - a sin to throw away. They can be used in the manufacture of various decorative elements and homemade products for interior decoration. That's just to evenly cut them along the "by eye" - it is necessary to try very hard.
In order to facilitate the task, the author suggests making a simple template for even cutting wine corks with his own hands. You can make it from pieces of plywood or a regular board.
First of all, it is necessary to saw off two pieces of plywood, and the edge on both sides must be cut on a circular at an angle of 45 degrees.
It is better to immediately prepare the rail of the desired width, and already cut two workpieces from it. From these blanks, the author glues a "boat".
The main stages of work
The ends of the resulting "boat" must be covered with plywood: moreover, on the one hand, the author glues two thick pieces, on the other - thin. Next, the "boat" must be glued to a piece of rectangular plywood (base).
At the next stage, the author makes a longitudinal cut in the “boat” for the saw blade, and also makes a triangular cut at the end of the template (where thin plywood is glued).
Now the homemade product is completely ready, and you can already start cutting wine corks. The author performs this operation on a band saw. In addition to the base, a finger rest can be attached.
