If you have an old die lying around in your workshop or garage (in the common people - lerka), do not rush to throw it into scrap metal. From it you can make with your own hands a useful tool in the household - a nail clipper.
For the manufacture of a nail clipper, in addition to the die, it will also be necessary to prepare a piece of a 20x40 mm profile pipe and a half-inch pipe segment, which will be used as a handle.
First of all, cut a small piece from the lehrka, and then with the help of a grinder we make a longitudinal slot of a wedge-shaped shape so that you can grab a nail head or a screw.
The main stages of work
Using a grinder and welding, the master makes a rectangular part from a profile pipe, and then drills a through hole in it.
At the next stage, we weld a handle to the handle (a piece of a half-inch pipe). We clean the weld with a grinder.
After that, the author inserts a metal sleeve into one of the holes in the die. Then, with the help of a bolt and nut, you need to attach the workpiece from the profile pipe to the handle.
In the end, it remains only to weld a piece of steel plate to the handle. Then the finished product can again be cleaned with a grinder and sanded for greater aesthetics.
