Make a big cat tree for your beloved pet. Cats like to climb higher and watch what is happening from their observation point, so they will certainly appreciate your efforts.

Gather everything you need

To build you will need:
  • Pine boards and slats.
  • Wooden and metal corners for shelves.
  • Rope of two kinds.
  • 3 Euro pallets.
  • Details of an old cat house.
  • Light bulb and glass jar.
  • Wooden box for beer.
  • Lots of screws.

You will also need a jigsaw and drill.

Strong base from pallets

Cut 3 Euro pallets. Leave the supports and slats and connect them, as shown in the photograph and diagram, with the screws.

Add floors

Lay the wooden square in the center of the base and fasten with screws. You will need another square of the same size for the top of the tree.
Mark on the square the width of the wooden battens that you plan to use as a vertical skeleton, and screw the metal corners for the shelves in each corner, as shown in the photo. Screw the vertical slats to the corners, and on the floor above for the next level of wood. Thus, two more floors can be made.
Ground floor: make a square of wood the size of a square at the base and cut corners to fasten it to vertical slats. Install metal corners in each corner of the board, screwing them to the middle of a vertical wooden battens.
Second floor (roof): make another square and screw it to the ends of the rails.

House

To make a cozy shelter for a cat, you can use the part from the finished cat house.
Screw the house under the first floor.

Scarlet Point

If you do not want the cat to tear your furniture, be sure to follow this step.
To make a scratching post, wrap the vertical rail with a rope and fasten with screws.
You can also screw to the tree a finished scratching post purchased in a store.
Try to make another scratching post out of cardboard and also attach it to the structure.

Stairs

Take the tree trim and corners and make extra steps on the tree, screwing them where you like.
You can make a cat bed by attaching a beer box to the side of the tree and putting a cozy litter in it.

Lighting

Cats like to warm themselves under a lamp when there is no sun, so you can add a lamp closed by a glass jar to the design.

Let the cat evaluate the result

Such a tree is suitable both for lazy relaxation, and for active games, especially when there are several pets. Claws made of rope and wood will attract feline attention, and the furniture and carpets in the house will remain intact.
